It is with great pride that we present the first edition of IRA: Insights and Research in Academia, the official research e-journal of the Institute of Language Teaching (ILT), Rajkot. This inaugural volume arrives at a significant moment when teacher education and research culture in India are undergoing transformative change. Rooted in the 125-year educational legacy of the Shree Saurashtra High School Trust, the Institute of Language Teaching continues to uphold excellence, inclusivity, and the values of Indian Knowledge Systems while preparing educators who serve as reflective practitioners and compassionate nation-builders.
IRA: Insights and Research in Academia has been envisioned as a vibrant academic platform that brings together researchers, educators, practitioners, and emerging scholars across disciplines. The journal seeks to harmonize the spirit of insight—deep reflection and meaningful understanding—with the rigor of research grounded in scientific method and academic integrity. IRA: Insights and Research in Academia welcomes diverse scholarly contributions, encouraging dialogue on innovative pedagogies, interdisciplinary inquiry, curriculum design, digital learning, and classroom practices that shape contemporary educational landscapes.
This first issue is a testament to the dedication of the Shree Saurashtra High School Trust, ILT’s faculty, administrative staff, and the IRA: Insights and Research in Academia Editorial Board whose commitment, peer-review expertise, and academic vision have shaped this publication. I express heartfelt gratitude to all contributing authors and fondly remember Dr. B. K. Passi, Dr. R. S. Khan(former Vice-Chairman NCTE) , and Dr. Bhadrayu Vachhrajani, whose mentorship has guided my academic journey. With hope and reverence, we dedicate this inaugural edition to all who believe that education is not just a profession, but a lifelong calling.
IRA: Insights and Research in Academia proudly launches its First Edition (June 2025)—a biannual, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed e-journal by ILT Rajkot, showcasing original research, academic reflections, and innovative perspectives in education and allied fields.
Rooted in ILT’s 125-year legacy, the inaugural issue reflects a transformative moment in Indian higher education. This edition brings together scholarship aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on holistic education, experiential learning, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and the future of teacher education, as highlighted through multiple research papers in the journal. The issue emphasizes educational themes such as teacher empowerment, curriculum innovation, digital pedagogy, co-curricular learning through IKS, and the integration of literature, values, and culture into modern educational frameworks.
The First Edition features empirical research, conceptual studies, action research, case analyses, and interdisciplinary articles—covering areas like management education, technical education, value-based learning, flexibility and physical education, and the educational philosophies of eminent scholars such as Dolarrai Mankad. This edition aims to stimulate dialogue across disciplines, bridge classroom practices with research, and inspire educators, researchers, and emerging scholars to shape a future-ready academic ecosystem.
🌟 Issue 2– January 2026
The latest edition of IRA: Insights and Research in Academia was developed as a special themed publication based on the National Seminar on “Indian Knowledge: Foundation of Holistic Education”, organized by the Institute of Language Teaching (ILT), Rajkot on 1 January 2026.
The issue was systematically structured and published in two parts (Part-1 and Part-2) to comprehensively accommodate the wide range of scholarly contributions received. Through this curated format, diverse research exploring Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), value-based education, pedagogical innovations, NEP 2020 reforms, and interdisciplinary perspectives was consolidated into a cohesive academic volume.
Scholarly works—including original research papers, conceptual analyses, and case-based studies presented during the seminar and beyond—were rigorously reviewed and included in this special issue. Selected contributions were also formally documented in the online ISSN seminar proceedings, ensuring wider academic dissemination and archival value.
This edition reflected a collective academic effort to integrate ancient Indian wisdom with contemporary educational practices, thereby contributing to the advancement of holistic and transformative teacher education in India.
